2020-21 MLHA Refund Policy
To all MLHA Families:
The Mt. Lebanon Hockey Association (MLHA) is prepared to take the necessary steps to minimize the financial risk and impact due to the possibility that a portion of the 2020-21 season may be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, the MLHA Board of Directors has adopted the following policy to define the potential cancellations that could occur at various points of the season. Any portion that is rescheduled rather than cancelled will not apply to this policy.
Approximately 20% of our annual budget is allocated for items that are not contingent upon the amount of hockey played e.g. league fees, pre-paid ice, equipment/uniforms, merchandise, Team Snap. As such, once the season starts, the maximum refund of a player’s season fees is 80%. For the purposes of this policy, the MLHA season is August 15, 2020 to March 13, 2021 (30-weeks).
1. Cancellation of the entire season: If the entire season is cancelled prior to August 15, 2020, due to governing body orders (including, but not limited to Federal, State, Local officials or USA Hockey), members will be entitled to a credit to their account (80% of season fees). This credit can be carried over to the following season, or refunded to their method of payment on file (less 3% transaction processing fee charged by TeamSnap). All refunds will be processed within 30-days of notification.
2. Partial cancellation of season: If a portion of the season is cancelled, the amount of the credit will be based on the number of weeks cancelled. The percentage of weeks cancelled is calculated as the number of full weeks cancelled between August 15, 2020 and March 15, 2021 out of 30. As an example, if your season fees are $1,800 and the season is cancelled on January 1, 2021, there would be 10 weeks lost:
o 80% of Season Fees = 1,440
o 10 of 30 weeks lost = 33%
o Amount of credit = $480 (less 3% processing fee)
